A5 VLTOR Buffers

These buffers are designed specifically to complement the VLTOR Extended-Length Vltor A5 Rifle Recoil System.
Manufactured in the USA by Heavy Buffers, not affiliated in any way with VLTOR.

We start with solid 303 Stainless Steel and add reciprocating internal weights for the "Dead-Blow" effect. None of our Heavy Buffers have messy powders or fluids inside that will eventually leak (they always do) and muck up your gun's internals.

Recommendations:

  • An H3 or H4 will work well for most applications.
  • If you shoot underpowered/import/surplus ammo an H or H2 might be a better choice.
  • If you are running a suppressor or want maximum recoil reduction you need the XH (10 ounce) buffer.

Please Note: We strongly recommend Wolff XP RIFLE buffer springs for maximum reliability. Some standard OEM and aftermarket springs from other manufacturers will cause malfunctions. 'Flat-Wire' springs are not recommended in any case.

This kit includes an empty buffer body and a set of various inserts to allow 'tuning' the buffer to your specific gun/ammo combination. Total buffer weight can be adjusted from 4.0 to 6.5 ounces, or up to 10.0 ounces with the optional Tungsten inserts sold below. Also includes a Wolff XP rifle buffer spring.

A5 buffers only work in the A5 Recoil System. You MUST use an A5 receiver extension.

Attempting to use an A5 buffer with an A2 (rifle) or standard carbine receiver extension will result in damage/injury/mayhem.

Note: We cannot guarantee proper function with subsonic ammo. There are significant differences in specifications among the various brands of ammo and firearms manufacturers. Some guns will run great with almost any ammo, other guns may not function reliably with any subsonics. This is all beyond our control.
